2016 Earth Day Events San Antonio and Austin TX
Earth Day originated back in 1970 in Wisconsin, when Senator Gaylord Nelson created the holiday as an environmental teach-in, and to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth’s natural environment. Since then, Earth Day has expanded to 184 countries and over 500 million worldwide participants. 20th Annual Earth Day Fiesta
April 16 • 7:30 am – 10:30 am
Celebrate Earth Day by running in the 20th Annual Earth Day Fiesta 5K in San Antonio, which is organized by The Run A Way Running Club and Purnell Racing. After the race, there is an Earth Day festival with over 50 booths and vendors. Please note: This 5K is a different event than the Fiesta San Antonio. Austin Earth Day Festival 2016
April 23 • 12:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Join the Austin Earth Day Festival for a delightful environmental and cultural celebration. The event features a wide variety of attractions, great local food, inspirational speakers, live music and interactive presentations, as well as plenty of exciting activities for children. Earth Day Fashion Show: The Five Elements

Join the Earth Day Fashion Show, presented by the creative students and team at Avenue Five Institute. This time, the show will celebrate the richness and diversity of Earth’s elements and people while playing with recycled materials. Free admission. Earth Day Full Moon Yoga — Wild Basin Creative Research Center
April 22 • 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Join Ashlyn Zamora for an hour of yoga on the deck of the Wild Basin Creative Research Center as the full moon rises. You can expect a slow flow Hatha-inspired class with breath work, followed by a short guided meditation brought to you by the sounds of nature.
