2017 Murphy’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival

WHEN: March 17 – March 19
WHERE: San Antonio River Walk and La Villita

A festive St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place on March 18 and will include festive parade barges on the river that will feature Irish music, Irish dancers and bagpipes. Continue the fun at the Arneson River Theatre with live music by local Irish-themed bands, Irish food, green beer and more.

50th Harp and Shamrock Wreath Laying Ceremony

WHEN: Friday, March 17 Noon to 1 p.m.
WHERE: The Alamo

Celebrate Irish heritage and the sacrifice of Irish heroes at the Battle of the Alamo with a dedication and wreath laying ceremony sponsored by the Harp and Shamrock Society of Texas. A great opportunity to teach children about the Irish culture and heritage, this event is a fantastic St. Patrick’s Day event for all ages.

34th Annual Harp and Shamrock 5K

WHEN: Saturday, March 11 at 8:30 a.m.
WHERE: Lady Bird Johnson Park

Find your favorite Irish-themed shirt, grab your kilt and lace up your running shoes for the 34th Annual Harp and Shamrock 5K. A spirited 5K run with St. Patty’s Day shenanigans thrown in that kicks off with a bagpipe start, this event is fun for all ages. After the race concludes, enjoy a hard-earned pint of Guinness and the Beethoven Dance Band. Awards will be handed out for the top finisher in each bracket, the ugliest kilt and the “greenest” man, woman and pet.
